Abseiling Bluff Knoll.Adventure based training programs utilise a range of outdoor activities to help people learn about interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships. The programs present a series of carefully structured challenges, as people overcome these challenges they learn a great deal about their perceived limitations, potential capabilities, self-concept and independence. By working in-groups throughout each program, participants learn about aspects of teamwork such as cooperation, communication, trust, problem solving and leadership. Lastly, by learning to deal with change, uncertainty and perhaps anxiety in adventure, the participants develop valuable coping strategies that can be implemented back at the workplace and in their day to day living.

Adventure Out workshop.Adventure Out’s programs are generally outdoor oriented and are based around practical, hands-on components which are designed to enhance trust, communication, problem solving skills and team performance. The programs may also focus on leadership, group support, conflict resolution and risk-taking, and are flexible enough to allow for indoor alternatives in the event of extremes in weather.

The experiential approach to learning is effective in developing competence in decision-making and planning processes, this includes recognition of the various tasks and roles that need to be fulfilled within the team environment. Perhaps of greatest value is the ability of the programs to develop morale and camaraderie between participants.
