This is where West Australian abseiling culminates, with a 250-metre multi-pitch descent! Two days in the south west of Western Australia participating in a challenging activity that's totally different to the normal abseiling experience!

The Bluff overlooks the Stirling Ranges and surrounding farmland, affording magnificent views in all directions. One of the unique experiences this activity offers is gazing down on the majestic A photo of the team at Bluff Knoll.Wedge Tail Eagles as they soar under you! Once you're on the cliff face, they often fly within 10-15 metres to take a closer look. Bring your camera - you won't get many opportunities like this!

Day 1: Depart Perth at 5.30 pm for Stirling Range Retreat.

Day 3: Down the north west bay of Bluff Knoll (250 metres), finishing around 3.00pm. Time to clean up, pack and return to Perth by approximately 9.00pm.

General information

Weather

The Stirling Ranges are subject to rapid changes in weather at all times of year. Conditions may include localised strong winds, extreme cold and heavy rain. Participants must be prepared for bad weather.

Location

Bluff Knoll forms part of the Stirling Ranges. The range is approximately 80 km north of Albany and 350 km south east of Perth.

Meeting Time and Place

We endeavor to leave Perth as close to 5.30 pm as possible, as it is a five hour trip to the Stirling Ranges. Meeting place will be advised closer to the departure date. We aim to return by 9pm on the Sunday night.

Accommodation

We will be staying in chalets at the Stirling Range Retreat.

Cost:

  • $470 per person
  • $446 per person for groups of 4-6
  • $423 per person for groups of 7+
  • $399 per under 16

Upon booking, we require a 30% deposit to secure your place on the program. We require full payment 7 days prior to the program.

Adventure Out will provide:

  • Accommodation
  • Experienced instructors (high instructor to participant ratio of 1:8 ensures the safety and quality of your experience)
  • Transport ex-Perth and return
  • All safety and specialised equipment (helmet, harness, ropes and abseiling hardware)
  • Comprehensive first aid kits
  • Meals from breakfast on Saturday to lunch on Sunday
  • Public Liability Insurance ($10 million)

The Adventure Out Bluff Knoll Abseiling course requires a minimum of six participants to go ahead.
