School Programs with Adventure Programs
Adventure Out are involved with numerous camps for government and independent schools, and coordinate programs for several international schools who visit Australia on an annual basis.
We have a diverse team of instructors and facilitators within our ranks. Their skills come from a wide range of backgrounds including long-term involvement in outdoor activities, military service, the education system and formal training and accreditation through recognised courses.
Our Programs
Adventure Out coordinates programs throughout the whole of Western Australia. One-day programs are generally conducted within the metropolitan area, while multi-day programs are often conducted further afield (from Exmouth in the north of the state to the south coast and lower south-west region).
Our programs are generally outdoor oriented and are based around practical, hands-on sessions which are designed to develop minimal impact ethics, the technical skills associated with specific activities, as well as more intangible social aspects such as trust and support, communication, leadership, decision-making and risk-taking. The activities are structured to encourage students to accept greater responsibility for their actions; this challenge by choice offers significant benefits in areas of self esteem, self management and self confidence.
The experiential approach to learning is effective in developing problem solving and planning skills which includes identification of the various tasks and roles that need to be fulfilled within the group environment. Perhaps of greatest value in the programs is the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the needs of each student as they work together in the natural environment and share common experiences.
We are able to offer programs incorporating the following activities, either individually or as a combination:
- Rock Climbing
- Low and high Ropes Courses
- Bushcraft and Survival
- White Water Rafting
- Raft Building
- Adventure Games
- Abseiling
- Canoeing
- Caving
- Sea Kayaking
- Navigation—day and night
- Flying fox
