We offer access to places not accessed by the public. We have long lasting connections with the Traditional Owners. We support the communities and respect the country we walk on. Below is just one example of an experience.

    Bushcraft Skills Trek

    Introduction

    Bushcraft Skills Trek requires pre-trek preparation. A minimalist approach with equipment carried in backpacks ensures individuals maximises this unique experience in one of the most remote wilderness locations in Australia.

    Program Itinerary

    • DAY 1

      BOARD FLIGHT

      Board a light aircraft and Fly to Chamberlain Landing Ground, a true Kimberley bush strip, excitement levels rise towards landing. Start point for your trek is 180kms SW of Kununurra, over 100kms from the nearest road or track.

    • DAY 2

      LEAVE CAMPSITE

      Leave our first night’s campsite we commit to negotiating 65kms of some of Australian’s most extreme, remote, and rugged wilderness, before reaching another bush Landing Ground for our return to Kununurra. The terrain is challenging, the environment uncompromising.

    • DAY 3 – 5

      NAVIGATION SKILLS

      Navigation skills are developed with an ability to read the ground in selecting an effortless route through in identifying contours, flowering vegetation, different grasses, geology, hydrology, animal movement patterns as we traverse the Chamberlain Valley/ River system.

    • DAY 6

      ENDABA GORGE

      Leaving Chamberlain valley we enter Endaba Gorge, which provides a narrow 3kms access to a window into a hidden natural treasure, another world of adventure. A gorge thickly vegetated, a sub-tropical environment supported with clear cool stream tumbling gently through a dramatic landscape of the Durack Range.

    • DAY 7

      PRE-DAWN START

      Morning rise in the gorge, a pre-dawn start in the Kimberley is a unique opportunity to behold, wake to the natural sounds of the Australian bush chorus coming to life, the changing morning light atop the cliff line, enjoy the refreshing coolness of the morning with a cup of billy tea, light blue smoke spirals upwards from the fire. With light backpack the climb up and out of the gorge system is not too challenging. Setting a moderate pace, we expect to arrive at Alligator by 11:00am in time to check the landing ground is clear and safe for the light aircraft arrival. On returning to Kununurra, it will be too late to catch any afternoon flights to Darwin, Broome, or Perth. Check into the local backpackers, enjoy taking that refreshing showers, fresh cloths, relax.
      Later afternoon evening, as a group make for the local, enjoy a refreshment of your choice, recount stories of the trek over a meal.

    • DAY 2
